On 17th September 2025 , the world pauses to reflect and to act on something basic yet profound: patients’ safety. This year WHO (World Health Organization) is devoted to protecting the most vulnerable among us, newborns and children.
The theme is “Safe care for every newborn and every child”, with the slogan “Patient safety from the start!”

But safety isn’t only about human children. Our world is shared with animals, newborn calves, puppies, kittens, and countless others who depend on us just as much as infants do.

In both humans and animals, preventable harm is real :
• Wrong medication or dosages
•Poor hygiene leading to infection
•Lack of awareness

When we protect our children and our animals, we protect communities. Healthy kids and healthy animals means stronger families, safer food system, and a more compassionate planet.

Patient safety is not just a medical term; it’s a daily responsibility. From clean hands while handling a newborn to ensuring vaccines, timely feeding, or a hygiene shelter for animals, small actions add up to big safety.

☑ Hospitals and clinics must build safety into every step.
☑Vets and caregivers need resources and awareness.
☑Families and communities must raise their voices for those who can’t speak for themselves.

Because every newborn human or animal deserves safety, dignity, and a chance at life from the very start.
WE ARE THE PROTECTERS

Newborns don’t come with manuals, whether babies or puppies, so the least we can do is keep them safe from avoidable harm.

This hashtagWorldPatientSafetyDay, let’s extend the circle of care!
